December's Best Links

Happy New Year! Not only is this New Year's Day, its also the first of the month. So its time to make my monthly reorganization. In this post, you will find the most popular links of the month and the ones I'm most likely to want to find again, plus a subject index. If you are new to this site, you might think "hmm, I'd read the archives, but that seems like a lot of work." Here's a shortcut: scroll down to the bottom of each month's archive (starting with October) and find the post for the first of the month. You can see the most popular links of the previous month, and find subjects that might interest you. If you just read the jokes, though, you'll have to scroll around for those.

December was filled with Christmas posts. A lot of material there! It ended up being the 12 Posts of Christmas, plus a recap and a serious Christmas Day post, Joy To The World. The most popular Christmas links were The 12 Diseases of Christmas, and Wizards of Winter. The best Christmas song I received was White Christmas. Other stray Christmas links include Christmas Zoom, Top Ten Signs its Christmas at the White House, and The Water Skiing Santa Show.

Voting is open today at The Order of Brilliant Bloggers for December awards in the categories of Serious, Comedic, Political, Photo Blogs, and a new category, Spiritual Blogs. You can vote by leaving a comment under the appropriate category until midnight January 5th. I am nominated this month, for Best Comedic Site, and for the strangely popular post Rescue. You have to have a Blogger account to vote (since the site does not accept anonymous comments), but they are easy to get. Hit the "get your own blog" button at the top of this page, then follow the steps. You don't have to create a blog, just dump out before hitting the "create blog" button.

Nominations for the BoB Awards (Best of Blogs) will be accepted until January 3rd. These awards are for personal blogs, judged on both content and design. Their judging panels will narrow the nominees down to ten per category, then we can vote, although the panels ultimately select the winners. Go check out the comments if you want to find some new blogs to read! I will let you know how many from my blogroll make the cut in time for your votes.

There is a new button on my sidebar. Its near the bottom of the pile, its red, and it says TOPBLOG.WS. If you click on that and vote yes for me, I would certainly appreciate it!

Thought for today: I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

This is such a great post! I love Bush's inbox! And do you know what: Bush looks like my ex-mother-in-law when he's in that Dorothy getup. I thought there was some sort of connection...

Great Bush gleaning! How do you find so much so quickly - you're amazing.

I don't find it quickly. I gather material for a couple dozen topics at once, and let them grow til they are ripe. And I have some amazing sources! ;-)
